The Cancer Ambassador Scheme

Cancer Ambassador Training

Is your company set-up to support employees that are impacted by cancer? The Cancer Ambassador Program trains employees to be Cancer Ambassadors to support colleagues directly or indirectly affected by cancer, fostering a compassionate and supportive workplace.

KQ3

Our training program encompasses a dual approach:

Understanding Cancer :

Participants will gain a foundational knowledge of various cancer types, treatment options, and the emotional and psychological impact these can have on individuals. This understanding is key to dispelling myths and normalising conversations about cancer in the workplace.

Skills Development :

The training goes beyond basic awareness to equip our ambassadors with essential skills. Topics include:

– Active listening and empathetic communication techniques.

– Strategies for supporting colleagues, friends, and families during and after treatment.

– Creating inclusive policies that reflect the needs and well-being of cancer-affected employees.

– Best practices for maintaining open dialogue about health issues while respecting privacy.

– The Impact of the Scheme

By implementing the Cancer Ambassador Scheme, we aim to:

Reduce the feeling of isolation often experienced by those battling cancer.

Provide practical support and resources to affected employees and their families.

Encourage open conversations about cancer and its impact, helping to normalise discussions around health challenges.

Foster a culture of empathy, enabling employees to feel valued not only for their work but also for their well-being.

At Kidney Qween we are committed to being a proactive ally for our employees facing cancer. We invite you to join us in spreading awareness and compassion within your workplace. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those touched by cancer.
